On Old Passion Sunday, March 17, at 2:00 pm, the Choir of Saint Philip's In the Hills will sing a program of choral music to anticipate Holy Week.

British composer, pianist, and psychoanalyst Francis Grier’s exotic choral meditation on the passion of Christ, Sword in the Soul, incorporates texts from both Eastern and Western Christian sources, Grier’s exuberant and moving style, a soulful cello solo played by Mary Beth Tyndall, and dramatic readings written by Rowan Williams and presented between movements.

This deeply moving program concludes with Ēriks Ešenvalds' lush and atmospheric In Paradisum for choir, viola, and cello solos.

This is a free concert (with free parking) but donations to the Saint Philip’s music program will be gratefully accepted.

In the spirit of connecting music lovers with inspiring sacred music, we hope you will feel welcome to attend these services and free concerts, and to bring a friend with you.
