Supporting Beloved in the Desert Financially

This coming year, especially, we want to equip our partner non-profits with energetic and talented Corps Members who can help in the economic and social recovery efforts that will be so necessary as the Pandemic continues to affect our shared life so deeply. Beloved in the Desert operates most of its budget based on Non-Profit Partner Fees. The fee of $15,000 per year is paid by the non-profits with which we partner, and is administered by the BITD Board and Program Director with the help of Saint Philip’s bookkeeper Anthea, and it covers personal, food and transportation stipends, health insurance, housing and utilities, administration, and retreats, books and materials.

The non-profits with whom we partner work with the Corps Members 32 hours per week for 10 months, and this creates a generative relationship where the Corps Members serve with gusto and care, and we as a Church community come to know the non-profits, learn from them, and partner more deeply with them in various efforts. Occasionally there are non-profits who would like to work with a Corps Member but it is not in their budget for the year.

If you would like to contribute to Beloved in the Desert in a unique way this year, please consider giving to support our ability to lower our partner fees for partner non-profits who could not otherwise have the support of a Corps Member part time or full time. The ability to offer a partnership at a reduced rate would be a gift to our shared ministry, and a sign of our commitment to the good work of our neighbors who are innovating new ways to serve. If you would like to give to this effort, please consider writing a check to Saint Philip’s in the Hills with BITD in the Memo and sending it to PO Box 65840 Tucson, AZ 85728-5840, or contributing online by noting BITD.
