Saint Philip’s orientation

Saint Philip’s has been blessed in the last year with many people who have expressed an interest in becoming parish members or have already joined.

In many cases, these individuals and families have already jumped in to life at Saint Philip’s, and for that we are very grateful!

Not everyone who finds a home in this parish was raised in the Episcopal church—or is familiar with liturgical worship. To that end, Saint Philip’s will offer an orientation to both the Episcopal church and Saint Philip’s specifically over the course of two Saturdays: October 28 and November 4. Both sessions will run from 9:00am-12:00pm.

But not just newcomers are invited. This will be a wonderful opportunity for everyone to:

  • meet Vestry officers

  • meet with Fr Robert to learn what it means to be a member of this parish (as well as the Episcopal Church)

  • take a short tour of the campus (you can finally learn where the Bride’s room is!)

  • learn about the basics of parish life at Saint Philip’s (what committees exist, how to plan for Baptism and Confirmation) and…

Each Saturday will also include a hands-on workshop with professional artist Susan Gamble. The cycles of the church year will be combined with the parish calendar, and the natural seasons to explore artistic, scientific, and faithful ways to engage our faith experience.
