Ensemble-in-residence

Saint Philip’s begins a new season of music in September and invites everyone to the premiere concert at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 10.

The church’s new ensemble-in-residence is Monsoon Brass & Friends. Saint Philip’s holds with the centuries-old tradition of churches supporting artists and musicians, and looks forward to hosting concerts performed by this local group. They will also play in services at Christmas Eve and Easter where the thrilling sound of brass is always welcome.

The program at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 10, will feature several massive antiphonal works from the Renaissance era. It will also include music composed by Lili Boulanger, Eric Ewazen, Herman Bellestedt, Betsy Bright, and TSO Young Composer Oliver Ward.

All donations will support Tucson Brass Workshop, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves brass musicians of all ages in the Tucson community.
