Christian formation

The hour following Mosaic dinner this Wednesday, November 15, will be led by Tucson wilderness explorers and long-time contemplatives David and Cindy Chojnacky. They will discuss their experience with Centering Prayer and lead a short practice session.

Centering prayer is a popular method of contemplative prayer or Christian meditation that places strong emphasis on interior silence.

David and Cindy spend winters in Tucson and summers in Hailey, Idaho. They came to Saint Phillips in 2021 when they bought a home in Tucson. David was raised in the Roman Catholic church and Cindy’s background is in the Presbyterian church. They both joined the Episcopal church in 1998.

Dinner at Mosaic
The meal at 6:00pm is possible because of generous volunteers who shop for the food and arrive early to prepare it. They craft dinners to feed 30-50 people on a very tight budget and say they find inspiration from the miracle of the fishes and the loaves.

It will help the volunteers enormously if you RSVP for dinner this coming Wednesday, November 15.

What is Mosaic?
Mosaic is a weekly gathering on Wednesdays for fellowship, formation, and prayer. The community is made up of people from different backgrounds but everyone shares an interest in nourishing their relationship with God. It’s a wonderful way to meet people involved in different ministries at Saint Philip’s and learn about ways to be of service.

You are invited to participate in all events or just one:

5:15pm Worship service in the church
6:00pm Dinner in the Murphey Gallery
6:45pm Formation in the Murphey Gallery
