Christian formation

The hour following Mosaic dinner this Wednesday, November 8, will be filled with card making, bow tying, and—if you’d like to learn or practice—knitting and crocheting for mariners and seafarers around the world.

Members of Saint Philip’s Prayer Shawl ministry will teach you how to knit or crochet a scarf or hat that can be sent to seafarers around the world.

The Seamen's Church Institute is a ministry that advocates for the personal, professional, and spiritual well-being of merchant mariners. One of their projects is the Christmas at Sea project that gives handmade, warm, knitted scarves, hats and mittens to those who make their living on the water at the coldest time of the year.

There will also be supplies to create handmade Christmas cards. All are invited for an evening of fellowship and creativity.

Dinner at Mosaic
The meal at 6:00pm is possible because of generous volunteers who shop for the food and arrive early to prepare it. They craft dinners to feed 30-50 people on a very tight budget and say they find inspiration from the miracle of the fishes and the loaves.

It will help the volunteers enormously if you RSVP for dinner this coming Wednesday, November 8.

What is Mosaic?
Mosaic is a weekly gathering on Wednesdays for fellowship, formation, and prayer. The community is made up of people from different backgrounds but everyone shares an interest in nourishing their relationship with God. It’s a wonderful way to meet people involved in different ministries at Saint Philip’s and learn about ways to be of service.

You are invited to participate in all events or just one:

5:15pm Worship service in the church
6:00pm Dinner in the Murphey Gallery
6:45pm Formation in the Murphey Gallery
