Christian formation

Saint Philip’s looks forward to welcoming artist Elaine Greenwood at Mosaic’s formation time this coming Wednesday, November 1.

Elaine will give a short talk on meditative prayer and art making and then lead attendees in a clay sculpture exercise that will explore the subconscious and the Divine. This event is for everyone, even—or especially—those who don’t think they’re creative or artistic.

Elaine Greenwood is an interdisciplinary artist and writer who lives in Tucson. Since graduating with her BFA in Fine Arts, she has worked as an art teacher, violin teacher, and studio potter. Art and poetry have been a constant and necessary part of Elaine’s life since her childhood. Elaine creates to make some sense of the complexity of our humanity in relationship to the Divine. Elaine’s portfolio and contact information is published at elainegreenwood.com.

Dinner at Mosaic
The meal at 6:00pm is possible because of generous volunteers who shop for the food and arrive early to prepare it. They craft dinners to feed 30-50 people on a very tight budget and say they find inspiration from the miracle of the fishes and the loaves.

It will help the volunteers enormously if you RSVP for dinner this coming Wednesday, November 1.

What is Mosaic?
Mosaic is a weekly gathering on Wednesdays for fellowship, formation, and prayer. The community is made up of people from different backgrounds but everyone shares an interest in nourishing their relationship with God. It’s a wonderful way to meet people involved in different ministries at Saint Philip’s and learn about ways to be of service.

You are invited to participate in all events or just one:

5:15pm Worship service in the church
6:00pm Dinner in the Murphey Gallery
6:45pm Formation in the Murphey Gallery
