Lenten retreat

Lent is a time of introspection and this one-day retreat from 10:00am-2:30pm on Saturday, April 9, will offer time for prayer, reflection, writing, as well as discussion.

The retreat’s focus will be on the Psalms of Ascent (psalms 120-134). Traditionally, the Israelites sang these psalms as they traveled to Jerusalem (ascending Mount Zion) for the three annual pilgrim festivals: Passover, Pentecost, and the Feast of Booths.

In the morning, participants will learn about these particular psalms. In the afternoon, retreat leader Shirin McArthur will use imaginative storytelling to help participants join the disciples as they follow Jesus into Jerusalem during Holy Week.

Location
The retreat will take place at Saint Philip’s, and include a simple Mediterranean-style lunch such as Jesus and his disciples might have eaten.

Cost
A suggested donation of $15 is requested to cover the costs associated with this retreat. Payment may be made on the day of the retreat.
