St. Philip's In The Hills Episcopal Church Library

HOW TO USE THE LIBRARY WEB FILE

The library collection is available on the web at the St. Philip's web site. It is accessible by means of entering a book title or an author (last name first) or by a subject. The computer assumes that you are spelling the names correctly. If you do not, it may not find the book you are looking for. If the title of the book you are looking for starts with "The" you must not start with that but put ",The" at the end of the title (note comma before ",The"). All of the books starting with "The" have the word moved to the end of the title. Also, if you are looking for "commentaries", you will find none because they are all titled as a "commentary". Just put the word "commentary" in the title box and see what you get.

If you want to search for an item other than a book, you need to put the type of item in the category on the selection page. For instance, to find a video, you need to put the word video into the category line as well as a title, author, or subject request.

When you have entered the title or author or subject you want, press the search button. The computer will show the library record for the book or books you are looking for, if they are in the library collection. It will return all of the books by the author selected or all of the books in the subject you selected. If there are more then ten titles being returned by the computer, it will show only the first ten of the selected volumes. You must select the "next" button at the bottom of the page to see the next page of titles.

At the top of the page of found titles there is a place for you to enter your name, phone number and e-mail address and comments and a button to press to borrow the book. We are not able to deliver or mail books at this time. If you wish to borrow the book you must come into the library and check out the book using the normal procedures as outlined in the Library Instructions.
