The Vestry serves a key leadership role at St. Philip’s — setting policy, holding financial responsibility, and planning and implementing strategies for the future success and spiritual connectedness of the parish. However, Vestry members are also spiritual leaders within the parish by example and participation in parish ministries.
The Vestry represents many different ministries and voices, but the group always reflects the values and mission of the entire parish as decisions are made.
The Senior Warden heads the Vestry and is appointed by the Rector in January for a 1-year term. The Junior Warden is elected for a 1-year term. The Junior Warden represents the interests of parishioners. Each representative is elected for a 3-year term. Three members of the vestry “retire” each year.
