Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care at St. Philip's seeks to live Jesus' commandment to love one another through these caring ministries. You are invited to join us. Contact us.

CHURCH MICE
The Church Mice are a group of ladies (men are welcome also) who arrange for the receptions held following funerals in the parish hall. If you are interested in joining, please contact Joyce Schumann at 529-7421.

CONDOLENCE LETTER WRITERS
The Condolence Writers are a small group of people who are responsible for handwritten letters to the bereaved in our parish. We want to let them know that St. Philip's cares about them. If you have an interest in helping this ministry, please call Judy Corse at 207-1988 or e-mail.

DAUGHTERS OF THE KING
Over 100 years old within the Episcopal Church, the Daughters take a vow of prayer, study, and service to spread Christ's kingdom in the world. They regularly share a prayer list of parish and personal concerns and serve the clergy as asked. For example, if clergy request an occasional call to a person, perhaps permanently or temporarily shut-in, one of the Daughters will do this. For more information, contact Elizabeth Weber, 219-4351 or e-mail. For the Daughters of the King Web site, click here.

FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
This drop-in group is a collaboration between Pima Council on Aging and St. Philip’s. A safe place to share feelings, learn about resources, gain information, and develop coping skills. Cofacilitated by Brigid Waszczak and Shannon Reed. For information: Brigid at email or 577-7792 or Shannon at email.

HEALTH MINISTRIES
Several programs offered through the church actively promote physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being through yoga, clay, centering prayer, grief recovery, and senior exercise programs and lectures. Pam Ballingham (790-7061). Read more.

HOSPITAL VISITORS

LA CASITA COUNSELING CENTER
The La Casita Counseling Center provides community-based counseling and referral services to Tucson and its surrounding communities. Our mission is to provide professional services at an affordable price. Our counselors are licensed and insured. We represent a wide variety of disciplines and professional orientations. As a team of counselors working together, we share a commitment to provide the right service to the right client at the right time. Charles Gillispie, 390-4860 or e-mail.

LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
These volunteers bring communion to "those who are unable to be with us" on a short-or long-term basis. Kathy Zwald, 203-1234 or e-mail.

MENTAL ILLNESS MINISTRY

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

RECOVERY MINISTRIES
Provide support to parishioners and community members through twelve-step groups For more information, contact Charles Gillispie, 390-4860 or e-mail.

ST. FRANCIS GUILD
The St. Francis Guild is a ministry of compassion centering around the interaction between animals and people. We minister to the members of our congregation who are pet owners by helping those who have lost pets to death or have had to give them up due to circumstances, assisting those who face the decision to have a pet euthanized, and visiting those in assisted living or rehabilitation facilities with trained pet therapy animals. We collect donations on the last Sunday of each month and give them to an animal rescue organization. For more information, contact the Rev. Sally Stevens-Taylor at animalministry@stphilipstucson.org.
